Accessibility & Deaf Culture Workshops

Deaf & Hearing: The Intersection of Cultures

This one-hour workshop focuses on corporate accessibility and awareness. Topics include sign language, Deaf culture, and workplace accessibility. These hands-on, interactive presentations create a safe and fun learning environment for all.

Working with Deaf Colleagues & Interpreters

This workshop focuses on providing tools and resources to facilitate effective communication for all. The goal of these workshops is to foster a supportive, inclusive, and respectful environment in which communication is seamless.

Sign Language Classes

DSPA offers online or on-site sign language classes for corporate clients. Our instructors can tailor classes to the needs of the learners at the frequency and duration that works best. Course levels offered include Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Conversation.

Providing sign language classes in the workplace can create an inclusive atmosphere in which people, culture, and language are respected. Learning sign language allows Deaf and hearing employees to enjoy deeper connections, trust, and respect, fostering a more cohesive and collegial workplace. Learning sign language also enriches cognitive processes such as higher abstract and creative thinking; improves problem-solving skills; enhances cognitive flexibility; and strengthens listening and communication skills.
